Miatas at Deal

This year the official Miatas at Deal's Gap dates are from Friday, July 23rd through Sunday July 25th, Lilas and I will be headed south early for a slow tour down and we will be staying at Fontana Village Resort with Bill and Sharon Miracle from July 22nd - 25th. Fontana is the home base for the activities and along with restaurants, fuel and a store (ice cream!) this is where the cars will be to show off, vendors will be located here and most tours will leave from here.

There are lots of things to see and do in this area other than the drives and since this is an unorganized event picking and choosing what and when to do things other than touring with groups or driving The Dragon is easy to do.The roads in this mountainous region are second to none in the fun to drive and scenery to watch go by departments (for the passengers only). The variety of Miatas, both stock and so modified as to be unrecognizable as a Miata, is incredible and hundreds of Miatas from many states as well as Canada are normally in attendance, this is an event not to be missed.

This event is so popular that the Miata crowd fills up the area motels every year and reservations for Fontana must be made a year in advance.
