2010 Southern Ohio Miata Tour, June 18-20

Hosted by Bill Miracle or Rich Velardo

On the weekend of June 18-20, a group is getting together for a Southern Ohio Miata tour.  This will be the forth year we have done it, all are free to show up and drive with us.  We usually travel state routes 78, 26, 145, 536 and others leaving from Marietta on Saturday morning at 10am from the Hampton Inn parking lot.  We are going to travel to Marietta on Friday afternoon, June 18th and set up shop at the Hampton Inn in Marietta.  If you are coming down on Friday, we will be at the Marietta Brewing Company, 167 Front St., on Friday evening at 7pm for dinner and some fun.  Join us then if not before.  You are free to make your own reservations at any of the area hotels.

The last few years a group of Miata owners from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana (several Miatas from Northcoast) converged on Marietta for a weekend of enjoyment on the roads of Southeast Ohio.  This year we are ready to do it again.  We have set aside the weekend of June 18th-20th for the fun.  This is a “non-event” drive, that means no cover charge, no registration, no organization, just show up and drive all the best roads we can find with us.  And we did too.  We also enjoyed some area attractions and of course, food.  We've been breaking into groups so everyone can drive at a pace they're comfortable with, if you'd rather sightsee along the way that's perfectly fine.

We will participate in a group drive on Saturday morning, June 19th, just like last year.  Had a great time.  This drive takes a good portion of the day, we'll stop along the way to pick up lunch that we'll picnic on at Hannibal Locks on the Ohio River.  Again, this format allows you complete freedom to do what you want to do and when you want to do it.  Drive, sightsee, eat, visit museums, eat, antique shop, it’s up to you.  We plan on doing some driving on Friday and then doing some shopping.  If you care to join in the fun, let us know when you are coming and join in.  If you can’t make it on Friday, come on down on Saturday morning.

On Sunday, we'll find an interesting Miata-friendly route back north on our way back home.

This is a great way to “get away” for the weekend and enjoy your Miatas on roads they were meant to be driven on.  We encourage all Northcoast members to join us.  If you plan on going or want more information, contact Bill or Rich.  Up-to-date info can be found on Miata.net by using this link:
